Our tailored workshops are a perfect balance of engaging and entertaining.

Laying the groundwork

In the leadup to our workshops, we take the time to get to know your team and leadership, so we can really understand what makes them tick. Then we can tailor both the course content and the roleplay elements to maximise the benefits of the time we spend together.

Leadership Onboarding

We sit down with all your leadership stakeholders, be they senior management or line leadership. We dive deep on current team dynamics, what your current pain-points are, and explore where there is potential for improvement.

Team Member Discussions

Using both Surveys and 1-on-1 discussions, we get to know your individual team members. Using the information from the surveys, we shape the world and create bespoke roleplay characters for each team member involved in the workshop. Your trainer will then sit down with each team member, explore anything they would like to see discussed in the workshops, and introduce them to their character and the roleplay world.

Workshop Design

Pulling together the results from the surveys, selection of relevant content, and identified areas of need, we build a workshop series specific to your team and its needs. We match the content of the learning sessions to the story of the roleplay, and create characters that will enable the team to explore the elements of the roleplay world that bring the greatest benefit and reinforcement of the learning content.

Running the Sessions

Our standard workshop package is 3 sessions of 3-hours long, spaced approximately 2 weeks apart. We come to your workspace. All we need is a meeting room, ideally with a single large table, and a projector or screen. We bring everything else that’s needed to make the event a success.

Talk the Theory

All of our Sessions begin with an active conversation about the theoretical content for the day. These content modules are tailored to the areas for improvement that were identified earlier in the process. Some examples of the topics being discussed:

  • Trust and Blame - Exercising trust as a skill, and discovering the potential of a blameless culture

  • Navigating Disagreement - Understanding conflict and generating respectful resolutions

Practice the Skills

Once the team has been taken through the theory, and had key skills highlighted, it’s time to practice those skills. This is where character-based roleplay comes in. Each team member will have worked with your trainer to fine-tune their character, and understand the roleplay world. The stories within this world are not isolated, but will persist across the workshop series, building an ongoing conversation within the team.

Your trainer will provide everything the team needs to get into character and start exploring:

  • Detailed character sheets and backstories, giving the characters a life that the players can explore.

  • Starter kit of tools for each player, including all required dice, custom notebooks, markers and tokens, etc.

  • Individualised player tokens, giving each participant a physical memento of their learnings and experiences

  • Props and puzzles, bringing the roleplay world into the physical, enhancing engagement.

Amping Things Up

The basic workshop series can be extended in a range of possible ways. We are always happy to be flexible to your needs. Here are some examples of extensions that we can arrange.

Offsite Hosting

While we believe that working on a customer’s site delivers the smoothest and least disruptive experience, we understand some clients may not have suitable facilities or will have other needs requiring an offsite experience.

We can arrange for a suitable space near your office, or push the boat out on an out-there offsite afternoon.

Diverse audience attending a lecture or seminar, seated indoors.

Larger Groups & More Sessions

Our standard experience is tailored for teams of no more than 8 people. We understand that may not be suitable for everyone, and offer a selection of options for handling teams beyond this size.

Let us know what your needs are, and we can craft a custom solution appropriate to your organisational structure.

Hybrid or Partially Remote Sessions

A lot of teams still have existing hybrid working arrangements, and not all teams can be in the same room at the same time. This does pose challenges around immersion and relationship building, but we are happy to discuss options for workshop delivery to support hybrid teams where possible.
