We’re passionate about helping your teams learn and grow, whatever the pressures they are facing.
The Tabletop Teams Philosophy
The Tabletop Teams mantra is “Learn, Practice, Excel”, and these three elements sit at the core of what we deliver.
Learn
It all begins with the presentations. Taking the time to walk teams through the fundamentals of good teamwork, discussing team-specific stressors or issues that may be raised, and workshopping possible solutions. These learnings can then be taken forward into the practice element of the sessions.
Practice
The roleplay sessions are at the heart of our approach. This environment allows teams to rehearse the skills and modes of interaction that are presented, without the pressure of workday stressors. By rehearsing in this space, teams can practice the skills discussed in the learning section, and make these skills part of their regular methods of interaction.
Excel
The nature of the workshops makes good group dynamics and teamwork practices a subconscious part of a team’s daily life. When these messages and strategies are internalized to the point of being social conversation, teams cannot help but excel.
Our Three Pillars of Engagement
In order to get the best out of any workshop series, it is important to have buy-in from all the stakeholders in the room. In the Tabletop Teams approach, there are three key stakeholder groups which we bring together to deliver the best possible outcomes.
Leadership
Input from team leadership is crucial to the success of our approach. We dive deep with you, discussing the current issues with your team, and possible approaches to address them. You bring the issues, and we work to build a bespoke solution specifically for the challenges facing you in bringing your team to the next level.
The roleplay sessions are an opportunity to stress-test the team on known pain points, and verify that the lessons have been learned. If the team deals poorly with failure, the roleplay sessions can put them in unwinnable situations. If the issues are in communication or trust, the team will receive incomplete information, and need to work together to resolve the issues.
Team
Getting buy-in from the team members is one of the most challenging aspects of team building workshops. Some team members will come to the table with preconceptions about the content and the experience.
We survey the team for both feelings about existing team dynamics, as well as preferred fictional content. The characters and world of the roleplay can therefore be individually targeted at each team member to maximise enjoyment and therefore engagement over the course of the workshop series.
Trainer
Having a trainer with experience and dedication to your team is key to overall success. In our model, the trainer works deeply with both leadership and the team. We discuss issues, challenges and stressors with all the participants, tailor the course content to meet those needs, and tailor the roleplay to explore the new skills being taught in an engaging and entertaining way.
Your trainer will be with you every step of the way, closing the loop at every opportunity, and making sure the series stays on track.
